WINDSOR — Sixth-seed Waverly swept second-seed Trumansburg in its opening match, then pulled out a win in its final set against Thomas A. Edison to lock up a berth in Saturday’s Section IV, Class C volleyball championship at Corning High School.

Birney earned an Associate's Degree in Journalism from SUNY Morrisville in 1986 and a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism / Public Relations from Utica College of Syracuse University in 1988.
