HOUSEKNECHTS LEAD WAVERLY IN SWEEP OF LANSING

LANSING — Freshman Victoria Houseknecht and 8th-grader Rachel Houseknecht led a balanced Waverly line-up in a sweep of short-handed Lansing here Wednesday afternoon in IAC Large School Division girls bowling action at Helen Newman Lanes.

The Lady Wolverines won a 2,454 to 1,324 total-pinfall victory over the four members of the Lady Bobcats.

Victoria Houseknecht, who had a 222 in the second game, and Rachel Houseknecht, who rolled 192 and 187 in her first two games, shot matching 547 series to lead the Lady Wolverines, while senior Morgan Lee had a 473.

Freshman Shantilly Decker rolled a 459 for Waverly, while senior Megan Lee added a 419, and senior Sadie VanAllen tacked on a 402.

Keara Armstrong led Lansing with a 402 series.

Waverly returns to action Saturday in the IAC Mid-Season Tournament at the Valley Bowling Center.
