VANDERPOOL LEADS WAVERLY IN SWEEP OF LANSING

LANSING — Freshman Zach Vanderpool banged out a 651 series to lead Waverly in a sweep of Lansing here Wednesday afternoon in IAC Large School Division boys bowling action at Helen Newman Lanes.
The Wolverines won the first game 882-823, then won the next two games 923-867 and 955-799 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,760 to 2,489.
Vanderpool rolled games of 203, 243, and 205 in his match-high series, while freshman Ashton Pritchard shot a 553, and senior Derrick Canfield had a 547.
Junior Matt Mauersberg shot a 475 for Waverly, while sophomore Cody Blackwell added a 468, and junior Richard Stevens tacked on a 458.
Parker Ouellette led the Bobcats with a 567, and Ethan Calupca added a 523.
Waverly returns to action Saturday in the IAC Mid-Season Tournament at the Valley Bowling Center.
