WAVERLY JVs SCORE FIRST 22 POINTS IN 52-17 ROUT OF TRUMANSBURG

WAVERLY — Waverly scored the first 22 points of the game, and rolled to a 52-17 win over Trumansburg here Monday night in IAC Large School junior varsity girls basketball action.

Addison Westbrook scored eight points and Peyton Shaw added four points as the junior Wolverines raced out to a 20-0 lead after the first eight minutes.

Paige Robinson scored a bucket with 5:47 remaining in the first half to extended the lead to 22-0. The two teams played even for the remainder of the second quarter, and the junior Lady Wolverines led 30-8 at the intermission.

Westbrook scored 10 points in the second half, and Ashlen Croft and Shaw added four apiece in a 22-9 game-ending run.

Westbrook led Waverly with 20 points, while Croft scored 11, Shaw had 10, Robinson added five points, and Michaela Lauper chipped in with four.

Waverly returns to action Friday at Lansing.
