ANOTHER BIG SERIES FROM VANDERPOOL LEADS WAVERLY IN SWEEP OF NEWARK VALLEY

WAVERLY — Junior Zach Vanderpool banged out another big series to lead Waverly to a sweep of Newark Valley here Thursday afternoon in IAC boys bowling action.

The Wolverines, now 8-0, won the first game 1,015-808, and followed it up with victories of 908-803, and 1,006-739 for a total-pinfall win over 2,929 to 2,350.

Vanderpool, who shot a 794 Tuesday, rolled a 784 series on games of 278, 238 and 268 to pace Waverly, while junior Ashton Pritchard shot a 554, including a 255 in the third game, and senior Cody Blackwell had a 531.

Sophomore Trenton Sindoni added a 514 for the Wolverines, while 8th-grader Tristan Campbell added a 509, and 8th-grader Derek Johnson tacked on a 488.

John Fiacco led Newark Valley with a 588 series.

Waverly returns to action Thursday when it hosts Watkins Glen.
