HOUSEKNECHT, DECKER PACE WAVERLY IN SWEEP OF NEWARK VALLEY
 

WAVERLY — Juniors Victoria Houseknecht and Shantilly Decker led Waverly to a lopsided sweep of Newark Valley Thursday afternoon in IAC girls bowling action here at the Valley Bowling Center.

The Lady Wolverines won each game by at least 334 pins in a total-pinfall victory of 2,587 to 1,517.

Victoria Houseknecht rolled a 588 series on games of 221, 167, and 200, while Decker rolled a career-high 580 series on games of 225, 179, and 176.

Sophomore Rachel Houseknecht shot a 493 series for Waverly, while freshman Serenity Conklin added a career-high 467 series, senior Sage Garrison tacked on a career-high 459, and 7th-grader Emily Houseknecht chipped in with a 270.

Lily Austin led NV with a 478 series.

Waverly, now 8-0, returns to action Thursday when it hosts Watkins Glen.
