JUDSON FUELS BIG FIRST HALF IN WAVERLY'S 50-20 WIN OVER NOTRE DAME

WAVERLY — Ryleigh Judson fueled a big first quarter, and Waverly raced out to an early lead in a 50-20 win over Notre Dame here Thursday night in IAC junior varsity girls basketball action.
Judson knocked down a trio of 3-pointers, and scored 11 points to help Waverly to a 17-1 lead after the first eight minutes.
Judson pumped in 10 more points, including two 3-pointers, in the second quarter as Waverly extended to lead to 29-5 at the half.
Judson scored 21 of her game-high 23 points, and connected on all five of her 3-pointers before the intermission to lead Waverly, while Cheyenne Dorsey scored 10 points, Brilynn Belles added five points, and Maddy Olmsted chipped in with four points.
Alexis Becker led Notre Dame with eight points, while Shannon Craig added six, and Payton Sutryk chipped in with four.
Waverly returns to action Monday at Horseheads.
