WAVERLY — Senior Gabby Picco connected on a pair of 3-pointers to start the second quarter, and Waverly kept knocking them down from behind the arc, pumping in a school-record 16 in an 84-31 win over Tioga here Tuesday night in IAC girls basketball action.

TIOGA CENTER — Freshman Joey Tomasso scored a career-high 27 points, including 25 in the first half, and canned seven of his team’s school-record 15 3-pointers here Tuesday night in an 89-41 rout of Tioga in IAC boys basketball action.

WATKINS GLEN — Waverly won the final four weight classes to rally for a 36-24 win over Odessa-Montour / Watkins Glen here Saturday morning in IAC wrestling action.

TIOGA CENTER — Last season, Tioga knocked off a heavily-favored Waverly team here early in the season.

WAVERLY — Waverly won 10 of 11 events, led by four-time winners junior Kaden Wheeler, and sophomores Oscar Williams and Jerrell Sackett, to win the virtual IAC Swim Championships Saturday afternoon.

NEWARK VALLEY — After trailing for the first 2 1/2 quarters, Waverly took the lead and extended it to double-digits, then held on for dear life in a 42-37 win over Newark Valley here Friday evening in IAC junior varsity boys basketball action.

WAVERLY — Waverly scored the final nine points of the third quarter as part of a 10-0 run to take control in its rematch with Newark Valley, avenging a loss 24 hours earlier with a 61-53 win here Thursday evening in IAC girls basketball action.

TIOGA CENTER — Tioga won six of the seven contested weight classes, including five by fall, and picked up five forfeits in a 63-9 win over Waverly here in the opening IAC wrestling match of the season for both teams.

NEWARK VALLEY — Newark Valley knocked off Waverly three times last season, including an 18-point win in the Section IV playoffs.
