WAVERLY — It was a clean sweep in 2020-21 as Waverly athletes were crowned the top female and male three-sport athletes in the Valley.
WAVERLY — Waverly landed two players on the IAC South Large School Divisional all-star team, and three more on the honorable mention list in recent voting by the division’s coaches.
MARATHON — Senior Caden Wheeler won a gold medal, and his classmate Collin Wright won a bronze here Saturday to lead a strong Waverly effort at the Section IV Track & Field Showcase, which featured athletes from nearly every school — 499 in all, regardless of size.

WAVERLY — With an abbreviated postseason in 2021, Waverly coach Kyle McDuffee gambled on a freshman and it paid off with a 9-1 win over Dryden here Tuesday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Section IV, Class B baseball playoffs.

ODESSA — Waverly's singles player Sheldon Huddleston, and the doubles pairing of Ashlen Croft and Rachel Shambo had to wait a day to finish their brackets at the IAC Tennis Championships.
WINDSOR — Second-seeded Windsor scored one run in the bottom of the first inning, and that was all it needed, although the Lady Knights added three runs late in the game for a 4-0 win over Waverly here Monday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Section IV, Class B playoffs.
WAVERLY — Heading into the weekend, it appeared the Waverly softball team would need a victory to qualify for the Section IV Class B tournament.
TRUMANSBURG — Freshman Jay Pipher pitched out of trouble early, and threw five innings of scoreless relief to help Waverly to a 4-2 win over Trumansburg here Saturday afternoon in the championships game of the IAC baseball tournament.
CORNING — The Waverly track teams brought home most of its hardware in the realys Saturday at the “Fast Times Invitational, held here at Corning-Painted Post High School.
ENDICOTT — Union-Endicott scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning, and made it stand for a 2-0 win over Waverly here Friday afternoon in non-league softball action.
TRUMANSBURG — Waverly brought home a gold in the 1,600-meter relay here Thursday afternoon in the IAC Boys Track & Field Championships.
