VANDERPOOL LEADS WAVERLY IN SWEEP OF O-M

WAVERLY — Sophomore Zach Vanderpool banged out a 682 series to lead
Waverly to a sweep of Watkins Glen Tuesday afternoon in a virtual IAC
boys bowling match.
The Wolverines won by a total-pinfall count
of 2,678 to 2,123. Waverly won the first game 891-700, then followed it
up with wins of 900-725 and 887-698. (Waverly bowled at the Valley
Bowling Center, while O-M was at Harborside Lanes in Watkins Glen.)
Vanderpool’s
match-high series came on games of 258, 243, and 181. Senior Matt
Mauersberg shot a 567, including a 237, and sophomores had a 511.
Sophomore
Ethan Roberts rolled a 440 in the sweep, while 7th-grader Derek Johnson
added a 432, and freshman Thomas Morley chipped in with a 406.
Sophomore Landyn Gunderson shot a 492 bowling in reserve for the Wolverines, while 8th-grader had a 488, and senior Richard Stevens had a 482.
Austin Hoyt led O-M with a 538 series.
Waverly, now 9-3, returns to action Thursday against Notre Dame in another virtual match.
