VANDERPOOL LEADS WAVERLY IN SWEEP OF WATKINS GLEN

WAVERLY — Sophomore Zach Vanderpool narrowly missed his second 700
series of the week in Waverly’s “virtual” sweep of Watkins Glen in IAC
Large School boys bowling action here Thursday afternoon.
The
Wolverines bowled a 2,800 at the Valley Bowling Center, while the
Senecas bowled a 2,503 at the Harborside Lanes in Watkins Glen.
Vanderpool
fired a 694 series on games of 289, 180, and 225, while sophomore
Ashton Pritchard rolled a 576, including games of 200 and 209, and
junior Cody Blackwell had a 549, including a 214.
Senior Richard
Stevens shot a 489 for the Wolverines, while 7th-grader Derek Johnson
added a 470, and sophomore Ethan Roberts tacked on a 447.
Matt Irwin led Watkins Glen with a 550 series.
Waverly, now 5-3. returns to action Tuesday in a “virtual match” against Odessa-Montour.
