VANDERPOOL PACES WAVERLY IN SEASON-OPENING SWEEP OF NOTRE DAME

SOUTHPORT — Junior Zach Vanderpool banged out a 794 series to lead
Waverly to a sweep of Notre Dame here Tuesday afternoon in IAC Large
School boys bowling action at Dixie Lanes.
The Wolverines opened
the series with a 965-740 win, then followed it up with wins of 919-721
and 969-767 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,853 to 2,228.
Vanderpool
knocked out games of 279, 226, and 289 for his match-high series, while
junior Ashton Pritchard shot a 539, including a 199, and sophomore
Trenton Sindoni shot a 510.
Senior Cody Blackwell had a 486 for
Waverly, while freshman Dom Wood added a 477, and junior Ethan Roberts
tacked on a 453, including a 200.
Bowling in reserve for Waverly, 8th-graders Derek Johnson and Tristan Campbell shot 501 and 489, respectively.
Connor Ryan led Notre Dame with a 558 series, and Ashton Colonio added a 488.
Waverly returns to action Thursday when it hosts Newark Valley.
