VANDERPOOL ROLLS LEAGUE-HIGH SERIES IN 4-0 LOSS TO SVEC

WAVERLY — Waverly sophomore Zach Vanderpool rolled a league-high series,
but SVEC put together the best team series in the IAC to date this
season in a 4-0 win Friday afternoon in boys bowling action.
The
Eagles, bowling at the Owego Bowl, won the first game 949-905, then
finished it off with wins of 1,077-890, and 1,084-964 for a
total-pinfall victory of 3,110 to 2,759.
Vanderpool rolled a 768 series on games of 244, 245, and 279 to pace the Wolverines, who bolted at the Valley Bowling Center.
Senior
Matt Mauersberg shot a 499 for Waverly, while junior Cody Blackwell had
a 487, sophomore Ethan Roberts had a 473, freshman Thomas Morley added a
470, and 7th-grader Derek Johnson tacked on a 468.
Seventh-grader Tristan Campbell rolled a 493 in reserve for Waverly.
Kody
Floyd shot a 745 on games of 234, 255, and 256 to lead SVEC, while Joey
Marsh rolled a 654 on games of 211, 214, and 229, and Lucas Heidl added
a 593 series, including a 234 high game.
Candor improves to 19-1 on the season, while Waverly falls to 13-7.
