
WAVERLY AVENGES PAIR OF LOSSES WITH SWEEP OF NEWARK VALLEY

NEWARK VALLEY — Waverly avenged a pair of losses earlier in the season
with a 2-0 sweep of Newark Valley here Thursday in IAC junior varsity
volleyball action.
The junior Lady Wolverines won by scores of 25-22 and 25-10. They also won a third exhibition set, 25-20.
Brilynn
Belles led Waverly with 15 service points, including seven aces, five
digs, and two kills, while Lainey Teeter had 11 points, including six
aces, and Mia Bakley had eight points (four aces) and seven digs.
Erica
Ryck had six points (two aces) and five digs in the win, while Maddy
Olmsted had five points, 12 setter assists, two kills and two digs,
Peyton Shaw added three points (two aces), a team-high nine kills and
two blocks, Ashlen Croft registered three kills, and Natalie Lauper
chipped in with two kills.
Waverly, now 2-7, returns to action Friday at Tioga.
