WAVERLY BESTS NEWARK VALLEY FOR FIRST WIN OF SEASON

WAVERLY — Junior Liam Traub earned low-medal honors to lead Waverly to
its first win of the season — a 193-226 victory over Newark Valley here
Monday afternoon in IAC boys golf action at The Club at Shepard Hills.
Traub fired a 45 on the par-37 front nine, while Jackson Knight shot a 47, and Davis Croft had a 49.
Aidan Westbrook and Declan Murphy both shot rounds of 52, and Hunter Elston tacked on a non-scoring round of 53.
Shawn Deer led Newark Valley with a round of 50.
The Wolverines, now 1-1, host Notre Dame Tuesday.
