
WAVERLY CLOSES REGULAR SEASON WITH WIN AT WATKINS GLEN

WATKINS GLEN — Waverly closed out the regular season with its second win
over Watkins Glen in as many nights here Tuesday in IAC South Large
School Division volleyball action.
The Lady Wolverines won by scores of 25-17, 25-17, and 25-20.
Junior
Michaela Lauper led Waverly with nine points (two aces), 19 setter
assists, five digs, and three kills, while freshman Lillie Kirk had nine
points (two aces), five kills, one block, and 11 digs, sophomore Peyton
Shaw had seven points (two aces), six kills, and six digs, and
sophomore Paighten Streeter had seven points, including four aces, seven
digs, and three kills.
Eighth-grader Brilynn Belles had seven
points and nine digs in the win, while senior Sydney Nierstedt
registered seven kills, two blocks, and five digs, senior Derek Bartlett
had four points (three aces), two blocks, and two digs, and sophomore
Erica Ryck added two kills, two assists, and two digs.
Waverly wraps up the regular season at 7-9.
JV:
Waverly won the junior varsity match, 2-1. Waverly won the first set
25-21 and 25-20. In between, Watkins Glen won the second set, 25-11.
Maddy
Olmsted led Waverly with 11 points, including four aces, four kills,
one block, 19 assists, and six digs, while Natalie Lauper had eight
points (three aces), two kills, and five digs, and Laney Teeter had four
points (three aces), five kills, and seven digs.
