WAVERLY DROPS SEASON OPENER TO SVEC

CANDOR — Waverly's scores were fairly consistent, but the Wolverines
weren't able to offset Taylor Brock's 3-over-par 39 in a 183-209 IAC
boys golf loss to SVEC Tuesday.
Liam Traub led Waverly with a 51 on the par-36 Catatonk Golf Club front nine in the season opener for both teams.
Jack Knight carded a 52 while Hunter Elston and Davis Croft both shot 53.
Also competing for the Wolverines, but not scoring, were Declan Murphy with a 57 and Devyn Kinney with a 59.
Jacob Banks posted a strong round for the Eagles as well, scoring a 43.
Tyler Greeno had a 50 and Joey Marsh added a 51 to round out the team scoring.
Jack Jennison recorded a 51 also, and Nathan Gillette tacked on a 53.
Waverly hosts Newark Valley (0-1) at The Club at Shepard Hills Thursday.
