
WAVERLY EDGES NOTRE DAME BY 1 STROKE

ELMIRA — Waverly used a balanced attack to pull out a one-stroke win
over Notre Dame here Friday afternoon in IAC boys golf action at the
Mark Twain Golf Course.
Jackson Potter shot a 43 and Nate Murray
carded a 48 to lead Notre Dame, but all four of Waverly’s golfers shot
better than Notre Dame’s third to win a 216-217 decision.
Davis
Croft led Waverly with a 51 on the par-36, front nine at Mark Twai,
while Jack Knight and Aidan Westbrook each shot rounds of 53, and Hunter
Elston added a 59.
Liam Traub and Declan Murphy tacked on non-scoring rounds of 63 and 65, respectively, for the Wolverines.
Waverly, now 6-2, returns to action Tuesday at Trumansburg.
