WAVERLY — Waverly had four double-winners, but Newark Valley won 12 of 17 events in a 99-35 win here Friday in IAC South Large School track & field action.

Sophomores Natalie Garrity, Kennedy Westbrook, and Abigail Knolles, and senior Gabby Picco won two events apiece, and junior Olivia Nittinger notched the Lady Wolverines’ only other win in the season opener.

Garrity won the 100-meter dash in a time of 14.47 seconds, and 8th-grader Addison Westbrook was third in 15.11 seconds.

Kennedy Westbrook won the 200-meter dash in 28.91 seconds, and Knolles finished third in 31.13 seconds.

Garrity, Knolles, Kennedy Westbrook and Picco teamed to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 57.23 seconds.

Knolles, Addison Westbrook, Picco, and Kennedy Westbrook teamed to win the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 4:47.69.

NIttinger won the pole vault, clearing bart at 6-feet, 6-inches.

Eighth-grader Harper Minaker was second in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:46.57.

Kennedy Westbrook finished third in the long jump with a leap of 14-feet, 8 1/2-inches, and Picco finished third in the high jump at 3-feet.

Waverly returns to action Tuesday at Thomas A. Edison.
