
WAVERLY GIRLS, BOYS NOTCH WINS OVER WATKINS GLEN

WAVERLY — Sophomore Kennedy Westbrook won four events, and senior Collin
Wright and freshman Ralph Johnson were triple-winners to lead the
Waverly girls and boys to wins over Watkins Glen here Tuesday afternoon
in IAC track & field action.
The Lady Wolverines won 64-15, while the Waverly boys topped the Senecas, 72-40.
GIRLS
Waverly 64, Watkins Glen 15
Joining
Kennedy Westbrook as multiple-winners in Waverly lopsided decision over
Watkins Glen were double-winners senior Gabby Picco, sophomores Abigail
Knolles and Natalie Garrity, and 8th-graders Harper Minaker and Addison
Westbrook.
Kennedy Westbrook led a sweep in the 100-meter dash,
clocking in at 14.26 seconds, while Knolles was second in 14.31, and
Garrity was third at 14.51 seconds.
Kennedy Westbrook also won
the 200-meter dash in 29.49 seconds, while Knolles was second in 30.89,
and freshman Paige Robinson was third in 32.97 seconds.
Knolles, Garrity, Picco and Kennedy Westbrook teamed to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 55.57 seconds.
Kennedy Westbrook, Knolles and Picco teamed with Addison Westbrook to win the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 4:47.69.
Garrity won the long jump with a leap of 14-feet, 1-inch.
Addison Westbrook won the high high jump at 4-feet, 2-inches, and Picco was second at 4-feet.
Minaker won the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:27.98. She also won the 800-meter run in 2:42.88.
Robinson won the 400-meter dash in 1:10.95, and Addison Westbrook was second in 1:12.3.
Freshman Erica Ryck won the shot put with a heave of 22-feet. 1 1/2-inch.
BOYS
Waverly 72, Watkins Glen 40
Aside
from Collin Wright and Johnson, the only Wolverine to win more than one
event in Waverly’s 72-40 win over Watkins Glen was double-winner senior
Skyler Dengler.
Johnson led a sweep in the 200-meter dash in
24.21 seconds, while senior Caden Wheeler was second in 25.12 seconds,
and freshman Micah Chandler was third in 25.97 seconds.
Johnson also won the 100-meter dash in 11.83 seconds.
Johnson teamed with Wheeler, Chandler, and senior Ryan Lambert to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 46.99 seconds.
Senior
Collin Wright won the 1,600-meter run in a time of 4:43.55, and junior
Gavin Schillmoeller was third in 5:31.33. Wright also won the
3,200-meter run in a time of 11:40.86.
Collin Wright led a sweep
in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:20.44, while 8th-grader Liam Wright
was second in 2:34.9, and Schillmoeller was third in 2:34.96.
Senior Skyler Dengler won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 21.09 seconds. He also won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:15.2.
Junior
Sam VanDyke won the 400-meter dash in 59.41 seconds, while sophomore
Treyton Moore was second in 1:02.23, and sophomore Ryan Clark was third
in 1:02.78.
VanDyke was second in the high jump at 5-feet, 2-inches, and Dengler was third at 4-feet, 6-inches.
Clark was second in the shot put with a heave of 31-feet 1/4-inch. He also finished second in the discus with a toss of 85-feet.
Chandler finished second in the long jump at 20-feet, and Lambert was third at 18-feet, 6 1/2-inches.
Waverly returns to action Monday at Notre Dame.
