
WAVERLY JV CRUISES PAST TIOGA, 48-2

WAVERLY — Waverly built a big lead early, and gradually pulled away in
a 48-24 win over Tioga here Tuesday evening in IAC South junior varsity
girls basketball action.
Ryleigh Judson knocked down a pair of
3-pointers, and scored 11 points, and Brilynn Belles added a 3-pointer
as Waverly raced out to an 18-8 lead after the first eight minutes.
Judson
scored eight more points, including two more 3-pointers, in the second
quarter, and Belles connected on her second 3-pointer in a 14-9 spurt
that extended the Waverly lead to 32-17 at the half.
The junior Wolverine defense tightened the defensive pressure in the second half, and allowed just seven points.
Judson
led Waverly with 26 points, including four 3-pointers, while Loralye
Anthony scored nine points, and Belles and Cheyenne Dorsey added six
points apiece.
Elyse Haney led Tioga with 10 points, Taliah Speer scored six, and Megan Vance added four.
Waverly hosts Edison tonight, and Tioga hosts S-VE.
