WAVERLY WINS 10 OF 11 EVENTS; TOPS DRYDEN, 96-6

DRYDEN — Senior Delaney Vascoe, junior Sophia DeSisti, and 8th-grader
Mira Kittle won four events apiece to lead Waverly to a 96-69 win over
Dryden here Tuesday afternoon in IAC girls swimming action.
Senior Willow Sharpsteen was a triple-winner for the Lady Wolverines, who won 10 of 11 events in the meet.
Vascoe, Sharpsteen, and Kittle teamed with senior Lourden Benjamin to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:10.08.
The same trio teamed with DeSisti to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:57.67.
Vascoe
won the 200-yard IM in 2:37.26, and Sharpsteen was second in 2:44.88.
Vascoe also won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:22.78.
Kittle won
the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 28.44, and Benjamin was third in
31.06 seconds. Kittle also won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of
1:09.85
DeSisti won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:22.88,
and 8th-grader Emma Vanderhoof was third in 2:40.83. DeSisti also won
the 100-yard freestyle in 1:04.45.
Sharpsteen won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:12.83, and 8th-grader Liz Robinson was second in 1:21.25.
DeSisti, team with 8th-grader Liz Robinson, senior Nicole Bunke, and junior Josie VanDyke to win the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Robinson finished third in the 500-yard freestyle in 6:50.36.
Waverly, now 2-1, hosts Lansing Tuesday.
