CHENANGO FORKS, N.Y. — Waverly 8th-grader Harper Minaker and freshman
Elizabeth Vaughn each turned in top-20 performances here Saturday
afternoon at Section IV End-of-Season Meet on the Covid-19 course at
Chenango Valley State Park.
“Harper (Minaker) would have likely
gone to States with her performance in a normal based on her
performance,” said Waverly coach Nate Culver.
The meet was run in
four waves with geographic considerations forming the waves, and the
results from the four waves merged upon completion of all four.
Waverly and Tioga ran with Owego, Newark Valley, SVEC, Corning, Horseheads, and Notre Dame in the “Red Race.”
Minaker placed 15th in a time of 22:51.9, and Vaughn was 17th in 23:14.0.
