YOUNG WAVERLY TEAM KEEPS PROGRAM'S WIN STREAK ALIVE AT 119 STRAIGHT MATCHES

WAVERLY — Only senior Haley Kittle remains from the Waverly juggernaut
that won four consecutive Section IV titles, and finished the 2019
season with a win streak of 118 consecutive regular-season matches.
Kittle earned low-medal honors with a round of 54, while 8th-grader Lauryn DeLill shot a 72, 7th-grader Sophia Sileo added a 74, and 7th-grader Addison Hunt tacked on an 80.
Annika Walle led SVEC with a 68.
Waverly returns to action Thursday when it hosts Lansing, Watkins Glen, and Horseheads.

Tim Birney is the founder / owner of River Road Media Group. He was born and raised in the Valley, graduating from Waverly High School in 1984.
Birney earned an Associate's Degree in Journalism from SUNY Morrisville in 1986 and a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism / Public Relations from Utica College of Syracuse University in 1988. He began his newspaper career at The Daily Review in Towanda in 1989, before moving on to The Evening Times in 1995. He spent more than 10 years at the Times, the last four as Managing Editor.
