WAVERLY — Only senior Haley Kittle remains from the Waverly juggernaut that won four consecutive Section IV titles, and finished the 2019 season with a win streak of 118 consecutive regular-season matches.

Yet, a very young Lady Wolverine team was able to run the streak to 119 Tuesday with a 280-283 win over SVEC here at Tomasso’s Golf Course.

"After more than two years of being shut down, it was nice to just be able to play golf," said Waverly coach Pete Girolamo.

Kittle earned low-medal honors with a round of 54, while 8th-grader Lauryn DeLill shot a 72, 7th-grader Sophia Sileo added a 74, and 7th-grader Addison Hunt tacked on an 80.

Annika Walle led SVEC with a 68.

Waverly returns to action Thursday when it hosts Lansing, Watkins Glen, and Horseheads.
