
CHANDLER, GARRITY PACE STRONG WAVERLY OUTING AT HURLEY INVITE

CORTLAND — Sophomore Micah Chandler had three top-two finishes, and
junior Natalie Garrity a trio of top-three finishes here Saturday at the
Hurley Indoor Track & Field Invitational at SUNY Cortland.
BOYS
Chandler
won the 300-meter dash in 38.82 seconds, and senior John Price was
ninth in 43.42 seconds. Chandler finished second in the 55-meter hurdles
in a time of 9.81 seconds.
Chandler and Price teamed with Sam
VanDyke, and freshman Ethan Gorsline to finish second in the 800-meter
relay in a time of 1:47.39.
VanDyke finished third in the 600-meter run in a time of 1:33.07.
The
foursome of VanDyke, Ethan Gorsline, 8th-grader Hayden Howe, and senior
Gavin Schillmoeller finished third in the 1,600-meter relay in a time
of 4:31.4.
Price finished seventh in the 55-meter dash in 7.65 seconds.
Schillmoeller
placed eighth in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:36.1. He finished
ninth in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 3:12.06.
Senior Hunter Elston finished eighth in the shot put with a heave of 30-feet, 3-inches
GIRLS
The
foursome of Garrity, freshman Kendal Shaffer and Kiley Stillman, and
8th-grader Mira Kittle won the 800-meter relay in a time of 2:03.99.
Garrity
finished second in the long jump with a leap of 15-feet, 1/2-inch.
Garrity finished third in the 55-meter dash in 8.2 seconds, and
sophomore Allison Barrett was eighth in 8.34 seconds.
Freshman
Harper Minaker finished second in the 1,000-meter run in a time of
3:29.42, and Gorsline was third in 3:32.78. Minaker placed fourth in the
600-meter run in a time of 1:57.86.
The foursome of Minaker,
Barrett, freshman Haylie Davenport, and Gorsline finished second in the
1,600-meter relay in a time of 4:54.31.
Davenport was second in the 1,500-meter race walk in a time of 9:55.18, and 8th-grader Emma Vanderhoof was fifth in 11:54.69.
Gorsline finished fourth in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:47.1, and junior Josie VanDyke was 10th in 6:25.11.
Kittle
finished fifth in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 11.04 seconds. She
was seventh in the triple jump with a hop, skip, and jump of 26-feet, 5
1/2-inches, and VanDyke was ninth at 24-feet, 4-inches.
Stillman finished sixth in the 300-meter dash in 5-.45 seconds, and Shaffer was seventh in 50.69 seconds.
The Section IV Championships are scheduled for Feb. 12 at Cornell University.
