HORSEHEADS TOPS WAVERLY TO CAP UNBEATEN DUALS SEASON

BIG FLATS, N.Y. — In a final tune-up before Thursday’s Section IV Championships, Horseheads finished off its unbeaten duals season with a 189-234 win over Waverly here Tuesday in girls golf action at Willowbrook Golf Course.

Freshman Breanne Robinson led Waverly with a 52, while freshman Madalyn Farnham shot a 55, freshman Lauryn DeLill carded a 62, and 8th-grader Addison Hunt added a 65. Eighth-grader Sophia Sileo tacked on a non-scoring round of 66.

Brooklyn Moffe led low-medal honors with a 42 to lead Horseheads, while Ava Fairbrother and Olivia Hatch each shot rounds of 48.

Hailey Baughan led Lansing, which did not field a full team, with a 48.

The Section IV Girls Golf Championships is Thursday at Soaring Eagles Country Club.
