SOUTHPORT — The Waverly baseball team knew they faced a tough test against Notre Dame ace Owen Stewart on Monday.

JOHNSON CITY — Waverly played a pair of non-league softball games here Saturday afternoon, dropping a 9-0 decision to Windsor, and a 10-8 decision to Johnson City.

ATHENS — Athens scored a run in the bottom of the first, and junior Mason Lister made it stand up in a 1-0 win over Waverly in non-league baseball action here Saturday morning in the “Battle at the Border.”

SAYRE — Sayre scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning, and led wire-to-wire in a 5-2 win over Waverly in non-league baseball action here Saturday afternoon in the “Battle at the Border.”

WYALUSING — Sophomore Micah Chandler placed in four events, and junior Kayleb Bechy placed in three events to lead the Waverly boys to an eight-place finish here Friday at the Lasagna Track & Field Invitational, while the Lady Wolverines finished 15th.

WAVERLY — Unbeaten SVEC had all four of its scorers break 50 in a 181-206 win over Waverly here Friday afternoon in IAC South Large School boys golf action.

WATKINS GLEN — Griff Schillmoeller and Ashlen Croft continued their strong singles play, and the doubles combo of Abigail Blauvelt and Hayden Larson picked up a key victory to lead Waverly to a 3-2 win over Watkins Glen here Thursday in IAC tennis action.

SPENCER — Waverly jumped out in front early, but unbeaten Spencer-VanEtten rallied for a 9-5 win here Thursday afternoon in IAC South softball action.

VESTAL — Waverly won its fourth match of the week, topping SVEC, 242-266, here Thursday afternoon in IAC girls golf action at the Apalachin Golf Course.

WAVERLY — Senior Matt Atanasoff and junior Joey Bernatavitz shot career-best rounds to lead Waverly to a 189-238 win over Newark Valley here Thursday afternoon in IAC South Large School boys golf action at The Club at Shepard Hills.

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT — South Williamsport capitalized on a trio of Waverly errors to pull out a 5-3 win here Thursday afternoon in non-league baseball action.

LANSING — Lansing won both doubles matches to pull out a 3-2 win over Waverly here Tuesday afternoon in IAC tennis action.

WAVERLY — Waverly erupted for 12 runs in the bottom of the first inning, and cruised to a 19-1 five-inning win over Watkins Glen in IAC South Large School Division softball action on a cold Wednesday afternoon.

WAVERLY — Freshmen Lauryn DeLill and Breanne Robinson led Waverly to its second and third wins of the week — 236-256 over O-M, and 236-318 over Watkins Glen — here on an unseasonably cold Wednesday afternoon of IAC girls golf action here at Tomasso’s Golf Course.
