WAVERLY — Waverly junior Zach Vanderpool punched his ticket to States Saturday, finishing second at the Section IV Boys State Qualifier here at the Valley Bowling Center.

ALBANY — Waverly junior Ty Beeman and freshman Kam Hills received their first taste of state-level competition Friday at the NYSPHSAA Division II Wrestling Championships at MVP Arena here.

WAVERLY — Waverly had four players — two first-team and two second-team — honored with IAC South Large School Division all-star recognition in recent voting by the division’s coaches.

ENDWELL — Waverly's Jerrell Sackett, Ryan Clark, Kaden Wheeler and Oscar Williams broke the Maine-Endwell pool record in the 200-yard freestyle relay at the Section IV Class B Boys Swimming and Diving Championships here Saturday.

CORTLAND — Waverly’s youngsters led the way here Saturday night at the Section IV Indoor Track & Field Class Sectionals / State Qualifier at SUNY Cortland.

VESTAL — Junior Zach Vanderpool fired the high series across all classes Friday, leading the Waverly boys to a third-place finish at the Section IV, Class C Championships here at Midway Lanes, while the Lady Wolverines finished fourth on Saturday.

ENDWELL — Waverly's Jerrell Sackett and Kaden Wheeler registered state qualifying times in the 50-yard freestyle and 100 butterfly, respectively, at the Section IV Class B Boys Swimming and Diving preliminaries at Maine-Endwell Wednesday evening.

WAVERLY — Waverly junior Kennedy Westbrook was named a first-team divisional all-star, and senior Olivia NIttinger to the second team in recent voting by the IAC South Large School Division girls basketball coaches.

SOUTHPORT — Juniors Zach Vanderpool and Ashton Pritchard led Waverly to a sweep of Edison here Tuesday afternoon in IAC boys bowling action at Dixie Lanes.

WATKINS GLEN — Watkins Glen kept the game close for a quarter, but Waverly pulled away in the middle two quarters on its way to a 56-37 win here Monday in its IAC girls basketball regular-season finale.

BINGHAMTON — Freshman Kam Hills was Waverly’s lone champion, but he’ll be accompanied to States by junior Ty Beeman, who finished third here Saturday afternoon at the Section IV, Division 2 wrestling championships at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena.

NEWARK VALLEY — Waverly finished third in Girls Division at the IAC Cheerleading competition here Saturday afternoon.

WAVERLY — Senior Kaden Wheeler, and juniors Jerrell Sackett and Ryan Clark were quadruple-winners, and Waverly established three new meets record here Saturday afternoon at the IAC Swimming & Diving Championships.
