QUAD-WINNERS DeSISTI, KITTLE LEAD WAVERLY TO WIN OVER DRYDEN, 94-86

WAVERLY — Senior Sophia DeSisti and freshman Mira Kittle each won four events to lead Waverly to a 94-86 win over Dryden here Thursday afternoon in IAC girls swimming action.

Freshman Sophia Lee was a triple-winner, while freshmen Lizzy Robinson and Emma Vanderhoof, and 7th-grader Lauren Welles were double-winner for the Lady Wolverines, who improve to 3-0 on the season.

DeSisti won the 200-yard IM in a personal-best time of 2:42.07. She also won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 59.55 seconds, and Lee was second in a personal-best time of 1:05.64.

Kittle won the 100-yard butterfly in a personal-best time of 1:04.97, which ranks third-best in program history. Kittle also won the the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:04.34.

DeSisti and Kittle teamed with Lee and Wells to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a season-best time of 1:51.43.

DeSisti teamed with Lee, Vanderhoof, and Robinson to win the meeting-closing 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:24.55.

Kittle, teamed with Vanderhoof, Robinson, and Welles to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:11.22

 Lee won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 28.67, and Welles was second in 28.87. Lee and Welles both swam personal-best times.

Senior Josie VanDyke won the 1-meter diving with a personal-best 192.75 points, and senior Abbey Knolles was second with 147.45 points.

Robinson finished second in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:34.3. She also finished second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:55.97, and Vanderhoof was third in 6:56.06.

Welles finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke in a personal-best time of 1:33.31.

Also swimming personal-best times tonight for the Lady Wolverines were Sophie Williams (3:01.89 in 200 free), VanDyke (3:01.22 in 200 IM), Sydney Rosenbloom (37.14 seconds in 50 free, and 1:37.1 in 100 backstroke), sophomore Brinn Cooney (1:19.94 in 100 free), and Isabella Root (1:25.14 in 100 free, and 1:43.85 in 100 backstroke).

Waverly returns to action Tuesday at Southern Cayuga.
