SVEC BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD AGAIN IN WIN OVER WAVERLY

CANDOR — Junior Jacob Banks shot a 1-under par 35 to lead SVEC on a
record-breaking round in a 155-210 win over Waverly here Monday
afternoon in IAC boys golf action at the Catatonk Golf Course.
Juniors Nathan Gillette and Taylor Brock added rounds of 38 and 39, respectively, for the Eagles, who broke the school record set just five days ago by 12 strokes. Freshman Noah Banks added a 43.
Senior Hunter Elston led Waverly with a 51, while senior Davis Croft shot a 52, senior Matt Atanasoff had a 53, and senior Jack Knight added a 54. Senior Declan Murphy and junior Joey Bernatatvitz tacked on non-scoring rounds of 55.
Waverly, now 2-4, returns to action at Watkins Glen.
