VANDERPOOL BANGS OUT 700 TO LEAD WAVERLY IN SWEEP OF NEWARK VALLEY

NEWARK VALLEY — Junior Zach Vanderpool banged out another 700 series to
lead Waverly to a sweep of Newark Valley here Thursday afternoon in IAC
Large School Division boys bowling action at Cardinal Lanes.
The Wolverines opened with a 1,003-878 win in the first game, then closed out the match with wins of 872-767 and 881-855 fora total-pinfall victory of 2,756 to 2,500.
Vanderpool rolled games of 240, 225 and 246 for a 711 series — his third 700 series of the season, while 8th-grader Tristan Campbell shot a 528, and junior Ashton Pritchard had a 499.
Eighth-grader Derek Johnson shot a 489 in the sweep, while sophomore Trent Sindoni added a 475, and freshman Dom Wood tacked on a 455.
John Umiker led NV with a 612 series, and John Fiasco added a 520.
Waverly returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Owego at Valley Bowling Center.
