WAVERLY TOPS SVEC, FALLS TO CORNING

CORNING — Freshman Breanne Robinson led Waverly to a win over SVEC,
while the Lady Wolverines came up 11 shots back in a loss to Corning in
Section IV girls golf action here on a sunny Monday afternoon at the
Corning Country Club.
Corning shot a four-player aggregate of 204, while Waverly carded a 215, and SVEC tallied a 244.
Robinson shot a 48 on the par-37 front nine, while freshman Lauryn DeLill and 8th-grader Sophia Sileo each carded rounds of 55, and freshman Maddy Farnham added a 57. Eighth-grader Addison Hunt tacked on a non-scoring round of 61.
Croning’s Lucia Chen earned low-medal honors with a 36, and Hannah Masaki shot a 42.
Lauren Gillett led SVEC with a 56, and Brittany Tiffany led an incomplete Elmira team with a 70.
Waverly returns action Tuesday along with Lansing at the Watkins Glen Golf Course.
