WAVERLY'S HOUSEKNECHT FINISHES IN TOP 20 AT STATE QUALIFIER

WAVERLY — Sophomore Rachel Houseknecht finished in the top 20 to lead Waverly’s efforts Sunday at the girls Section IV, State Qualifier here at the Valley Bowling Center.

Junior Victoria Houseknecht finished 28th in the field of 44 bowlers who bowled all nine games, and junior Shantilly Decker was 32nd.

Rachel Houseknecht bowled a nine-game total of 1,621 pins. Her total was 116 pins shy of the final state qualifying spot.

In the morning session Sunday, Rachel Houseknecht rolled a 540 series, and she followed that up with a 581 series — on games of 195, 189, and 197 — during the afternoon session. She threw a  500 series last week at the Class C Championships.

Victoria Houseknecht rolled a nine-game total of 1,552. Shot a 489 in the morning, and followed it up with a 518 in the afternoon. She had a 545 series last week

Decker tallied 1,493 pins. She shot a 496 in the morning session, and a 489 in the afternoon session, after rolling a 508 series last week.
