WAVERLY — Sophomore Jay Pipher pitched a complete game, and junior Ty Beeman had a big day at the plate to lead Waverly to an 11-1 six-inning win over Chenango Valley here Wednesday afternoon in the semifinals of the Section IV, Class B baseball playoffs.

WILLIAMSPORT — Williamsport blew open a tie game late, and handed Waverly its first loss of the season — an 11-2 setback here Tuesday afternoon in non-league junior varsity baseball action.

CORTLAND — Sixth-seed Waverly fended off a late comeback attempt from third-seed Dryden in a 3-2 win Friday in the quarterfinals of the Section IV Class B baseball playoffs here at Gutchess Lumber Sports Complex.

WAVERLY — Waverly’s comeback in the bottom of the seventh inning came up 90 feet short in a 2-1 loss to Lansing here Tuesday afternoon in the IAC Large School junior varsity championship baseball game.

HORSEHEADS — Waverly erased an early five-run deficit, then let leads in the seventh and eighth innings slip through their fingers in a 10-9 nine-inning loss to Horseheads here Thursday afternoon in non-league baseball action.

SOUTHPORT — For Waverly, they knew they needed to get a run early if they wanted to beat Owen Stewart and the Notre Dame Crusaders in a game to decide the division title.

WAVERLY — Waverly pulled away in the middle innings on its way to a 16-6 six-inning win over Tioga here Thursday afternoon in IAC junior varsity baseball action.

WATKINS GLEN — Watkins Glen had four golfers in the 40s, and posted a 177-196 win over Waverly in IAC boys golf action here on a cool and rainy Wednesday afternoon at the Watkins Glen Golf Course.

WAVERLY — After a loss at Notre Dame Monday, Waverly’s only hope of winning the IAC South Large School Division baseball title was to beat the Crusaders twice.

LANSING — Sean Bubniak tossed a shutout to lead Waverly to a 10-0 win over Lansing here Tuesday afternoon in IAC junior varsity baseball action.

WAVERLY — Waverly bounced back from a loss to Trumansburg on Friday with a win over Moravia Monday in IAC junior varsity baseball action.

SOUTHPORT — The Waverly baseball team knew they faced a tough test against Notre Dame ace Owen Stewart on Monday.
