SYRACUSE — After a historic 2021 football season, Waverly had four players honored with New York State, Class C all-state recognition on Wednesday by the New York State Sportswriters Association.
WAVERLY — Sophomore QB Joey Tomasso accounted for four first-half TDs to lead Waverly to a 35-8 win over Norwich in the semifinals of the Section IV, Class C football playoffs here Friday night at Memorial Stadium.
CONKLIN, N.Y. — Perfection. Sophomore Joey Tomasso ran for two scores and threw for another to lead Waverly to a 21-14 win over Susquehanna Valley here on a rainy Friday night, capping a 9-0 regular season — the second time in program history a Wolverine team has gone 9-0.

WAVERLY — On a weekend usually reserved for scrimmages, Waverly will open the 2021 regular season against Section III’s East Syracuse Minoa, a Class A program, here tonight at Memorial Stadium. Game time is 6 p.m.
WAVERLY — Waverly returns a fair amount of experience in 2021, but the team as a whole remains young, says longtime coach Jason Miller, who expects his team to grow as the season progresses, and ultimately challenge for a division title, and a Section IV crown.
