WAVERLY — It was a clean sweep in 2020-21 as Waverly athletes were crowned the top female and male three-sport athletes in the Valley.
MARATHON — Senior Caden Wheeler won a gold medal, and his classmate Collin Wright won a bronze here Saturday to lead a strong Waverly effort at the Section IV Track & Field Showcase, which featured athletes from nearly every school — 499 in all, regardless of size.
TRUMANSBURG — Waverly 8th-grader Harper Minaker, and the 1,600-meter relay team will represent Waverly at Saturday’s Section IV Track & Field Championships.
CORNING — The Waverly track teams brought home most of its hardware in the realys Saturday at the “Fast Times Invitational, held here at Corning-Painted Post High School.
TRUMANSBURG — Eighth-grader Harper Minaker paced Waverly with a pair of fourth-place finishe here Wednesday at the IAC Girls Track & Field Championships.

NEWARK VALLEY — Senior Gabby Picco, junior Abby Knolles, and sophomore Kennedy Westbrook ran on a pair of winning relays, and junior Olivia Nittinger was the Lady Wolverines’ only individual winner here Monday at the IAC South Large School Divisional track & field meet.

WAVERLY — Waverly senior Cora Smith will continue her track career, and begin one in cross country at the highest level next fall after signing a National Letter-of-Intent with Division I James Madison University here Tuesday in a ceremony in the learning commons at Waverly High School.
